Marika Tardio
Designer
Designer and art director, Marika Tardio is the co-founder and creative director of MaVoix.
Her practice moves between decoration, language, and memory, transforming materials and surfaces into poetic devices. She authors many of the brand’s collections and leads the creative dialogue with artists and designers.
Marika Tardio’s work lies at the intersection of design, art, and material culture. After graduating with honors in Industrial Design, she established herself in product design, collaborating with international brands such as Steinway & Sons, Baldi Home, and Bentley Home, as well as with cultural institutions like Lineapelle.
Driven by a sensitivity to form as narrative, she founded her independent practice, Marika Tardio Studio, developing an aesthetic rooted in language, symbolism, and transformation.
She was appointed artistic director for In the Making, the curatorial space of Lineapelle, which transforms raw material into poetic matter through immersive installations that invite viewers to perceive leather as a living surface.
Among her recent works is the Sea-nthesia Cabinet, a sensory furniture-sculpture presented at Homo Faber 2024, created with Alice Corbetta and Stile Legno — a project selected as an example of Italian excellence in decorative design.
Marika also serves on the scientific committee of Artex – Regione Toscana and collaborates as a lecturer and researcher, contributing to initiatives that promote craftsmanship and design culture.
As co-founder and artistic director of MaVoix Exclusive Wallpaper, she designs many of the brand’s decorative collections, translating the concept of wallpaper into a symbolic language.
Her creations are narrative patterns and visual textures that inhabit space as poetic systems, where matter becomes story and ornament becomes thought.
